Palmerston rams have been an important part of our farming business since 2012. For the past eight years we have been using Palmerston rams in our transition from a pure merino wool flock into a Coopworth-based meat sheep. A key driver for choosing Coopworth sires was for their fertility, mothering ability and fast growth rates as well as footrot and worm resistance. Palmerston rams have passed these traits on and our flock is now comprised primarily of Coopworth genetics bred from Palmerston rams. Confidence in the genetics stems from the high level of performance recording that Bill presents at all sales. Palmerston rams have provided our business with a hardy and highly productive ewe.
