The principal and the passion behind Palmerston Coopworths is Bill Scott-Young.

Bill is assisted on the farm by his sons, Tim who has been working at Palmerston since 2012, and Oliver, who returned home in December 2019.
Bill’s partner, Leanne Sherriff, works one day a week at Palmerston, helping out mainly with stud duties. She is kept busy the other days working as an agricultural consultant.
Bill is a council member of Coopworth Genetics Australia and was President from 2008 till 2012. He is a regular visitor to New Zealand, often attending Coopworth Genetics New Zealand’s annual conference in addition to visiting both Coopworth and Coopdale breeders on the north and south islands. And of course the odd fishing or hunting trip or maybe cycling can usually be squeezed in to the busy sheep schedule.
